Out of Context - Condensed

(writer’s note: I could have presented this much more cleanly, removed the profanities and stuff, but then I’ll just be filtering out my passion on how ridiculous this stuff is, that’s why I decided to keep this the way it is right now.)

You know why I hate pages like these? No, shut up. I don’t hate God or antyhing, at best we hang out at a bar and have the occasional beer and talk. No. I don’t hate God. I hate the idiots that manage his stuff.

This Page has 11 Million Likes. ELEVEN MILLION people see their posts every time they do come up with something. Now, this presents a wonderful, wonderful opportunity for spreading good faith. For giving small amounts of Nuggets of wisdom that can be found in the bible. For teaching this generation of how Catholicism encourages tolerance, acceptance and how we should love everybody around us and be a better person one day at a time.

Again, ELEVEN MILLION people could be getting that. But No. We have shit like these:

Isn’t it already obvious that they LIKE Jesus by virtue of LIKING the Page? Why do they have to keep doing this? There’s a lot of other useful stuff they could be doing, like I mentioned earlier, quoting a passage from the bible to inspire. Encouraging discussions on this week’s Sermon (It’s lent eh?) THAT KIND OF STUFF.

But no. They act like 14 year old attention whores in facebook. You know the type. I know you’ve seen it. SHARE THIS PHOTO IF YOU LOVE JESUS KEEP SCROLLING IF YOU LIKE THE DEVIL (i don’t have a sample picture because I filtered all that shit). Like for SOME Reason the world’s LARGEST religion (even literally having its own mini-country dedicated to it. ie: Vatican) needs to have MORE attention.

I can understand this perspective if you belong in like a small, obscure new age religion stuff and need Members who will join your cult or something, but (arguable) the BIGGEST RELIGION ON EARTH, really? I just don’t understand the reasoning behind this. Can someone please explain it to me?

From where I’m standing, Catholics should stop trying to get members. I know you were once abused and ridiculed for worshipping Christ, but that period is over. You are now one of the most prominent powers in the world, and instead of trying to get more members, you should be focusing on what YOUR FOUNDER INITIALLY WANTED YOU TO DO!

You know, improving the lives of everyone around you. 

The worst part is this isn’t the only page. There are literally thousands of other pages that does exactly the same thing with around the same number of likes. 

And don’t get me started on all your preachy passive-aggressive members. Those people depress me even more than this huge waste in potential.

Again, I don’t hate Jesus, or God. I hate the inane followers who think they are somehow better than everyone else just because they believe in a particular diety. No. Regardless of what your priest tells you, we are all human. We are all different.

And we are all equal.

And I feel disgusted, having to repeat this.
