Out of Context - Condensed

Thank you, 2011

Time for my yearly year-end entry that I should have written earlier but was too absorbed reading Towers of Midnight to do. Ah well, I guess I can prepare later.

2011 was a roller coaster ride. I’m going to keep it short, because partly there’s too many things that had happened, and partly because I want to go back reading.

I remember entering the year really hopeful for eSports. Back then I was just a guy who was a member of the community, wasn’t going to school, didn’t have a job. Mostly I just do a weekly cast with some friends. But that quickly changed.

Around February we were organizing a tournament and Mineski said they needed a caster for it, I’m not going to go into details, but basically I joined up to help out. I didn’t really know what I was going into, but suddenly I found myself wrapped up in a whirlpool. Everything seemed to be happening so fast, Event after event after event and we kept going at it. Not to mention I went back to school this year and I had to balance everything.

It was… a fun year.

But of course it wasn’t a year without problems. We were mentally pushed to the limits of our capabilities and were just really lucky to come out on top.

To the Starcraft Community:
Thank you guys for standing strong and helping each other out. Your actions after the fiasco was exactly what we needed to strengthen the community and it proves why you guys are so awesome. I am grateful for being a part of you.

To Mineski:
Thank you for giving me for giving the chance to do what I love. I hope that I can live up to your expectations year after year.

To My Family:
Thank you for letting me do what I do. I know I still am struggling with what I must do, but I will get there eventually. Thank you for being so patient.

To My Friends:
Thank you for being so wonderful. You guys are the reason why my life is so colorful and what keeps it interesting. Without your encouragements, I don’t know what I would do.

Again, this year has been very wonderful and I am blessed to have lived the way I lived this year. If by chance, the world does end at 2012, well, I will not have any regrets (well, except maybe that awkward photo with Ashley…)

Anyway. Thanks for your time reading this. It’s not as fleshed out as I would hope, but I really just wanted to thank everyone who has been part of my life.

See you next year, on the edge of the Mayan Calendar, eh? :)
